Let me see, what is happening of interest. Firstly the snow left us for several days but is back again this morning. This winter has been extraordinary. I remember a season like this just after I moved down to Wuerzburg when we had snow on the ground late November til early March. Believe it may have been 1996. We were on holiday in early December in the Sachsen Vogtland area near Czech and had our first snow hike. When we returned home, lo and behold.. a light snow in Frankfurt as well. We should have guessed what was ahead. Looking back at my daily calendar, which I use like a Tagesbuch (diary) I see snow and cold temperatures until last week! Unbelievable... hopefully all the dreaded pine beetles will have been killed off. As the acid rain problem has pretty much solved itself here with stiff environmental laws, the chomping varmints remain the sourage of our lovely needle trees.
My annual trip to America is coming up soon. Beause I usually take sister Susie Q to the beach for a fishing trip, I have been going in late summer. However, this year is special. It's my 50th high school reunion on 5 June in Greensboro! What a great adventure this will be. I often visit with several of my old hell raising buddies, but now I will be able to rekindle some really old friendships! Most of the class of over 500, live in Greensboro! Only 2 others are like me and even live out of the USA. More on this trip later.
