New Years Resolution

ROTLINTSTRASSE - 00:01 hrs January 1, 2011

I have NEVER EVER made any serious New Year's resolutions.  So why start now when I am at the age that I pretty much do what I want anyhow!  I guess being "stuck in the house" for the last 3  months has sent me a bit over the top.

So here goes:  RESOLVED
# 1. to get out to a cultural event at least every 2 months.  Going to the REWE [my local supermarket]does NOT count! Frankfurt is a vibrant city with at least 20 events going on every day.  Now I should be able to find at least 2 out of the possible 1200 goings-on to tickle my fancy

# 2.  to not be a slave to my kitchen sink.   I have a "thing" about going to bed with dishes to be done.   Well, the new me will just shut the door and do them after breakfast the next day.
Hmmmmmmm this may be a really tough one!

# 3.  to let my US family contact me at least 50% of the time.  Another tough one - they are a busy family and it is hard for me to remember the days when the clock raced around at double time.  I find myself being too impatient to wait on them to call me most of the time.

# 4.  to retrain my Juergen to take care of himself.  I retired from full time work and put myself to work being a good German Frau.  After 6 years, I now am going part time!

# 5.  to scale back on my volunteer jobs.  I used to know how to say, "no" when I was working, but seemed to have forgotten it.

Well, 5 changes are enough to start off 2011.  If I am like most others, only maybe 1 of them will I follow through on, but hey, it's nice to plan it anyway.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
