yes, tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Now in America it is the biggest day of the year for the floral industry, but here it is a bit different. When I first came to Germany in 1989, I was told by my new exPat friends, don't expect much hoopla about Feb 14. Of course that was before the explosion of the Internet, the European Union and the coming of the Euro. Now I see the familiar red hearts and sentimental messages in store windows all around. The younger generation has really grabbed onto the idea and are driving the train so to speak. However, it is still more low keyed than stateside.
Now some years, Juergen thinks of the day and surprises me with some red flowers and a card, and other years it is like any other day. Let's see what happens tomorrow!

I received the most enormous bouquet of beautiful red flowers here in the UK this morning. The teenaged delivery boy did a double take of the old crumblie who received such a tribute. Needless to say, the card read, 'to ZaZa, from your not so secret admirers' Amy, Matt, Eliza and Theo.
and yes.... Juergen did not say a word this morning but that's OK. He is always my Valentine
and at 1030 pm he came home with a lovely bouquet in his hand! Yes, I must retract my statement from earlier in the day! Love my man!
